V is for Vida

Greetings:

Vida means life in Spanish.

Sometimes I feel that my life is passing away, sometimes I feel like like is overbearing. I know that is not that sometimes I just feel that way.

When I do feel that way or when I feel happy and things are going great, I will write in my journal. First, journals are different from diaries. A diary means you are just recording the events of the day. In a journal, you write how you felt about your day or how you felt about a particular relationship. I also write about my dreams, my goals, and my fears. Sometimes I write about my problems and try to sort them out on paper.

Keeping a journal is great because it is like being a part of a secret pastime that only you know about.

I tried to write in my journal every day, but sometimes I’m not successful in doing that. I know there are books out there that say that you should write in your journal every day at the same time at the same place but that is sometimes difficult to do for me. However, I do write.

I’ve also found that writing in different colored inks in my journal has been very therapeutic in the sense. For example, if I had a bad day I will write in red, if I had a normal, sometimes boring, day I will write in black, if I have a wonderful day I will write in blue. What I’ve learned in writing different color inks is that when you go back and look at your journal, you can skim through and see how many good days and how many bad days by looking at the color of your inks.

I feel that if you if you feel like your life is passing you by or you have a problem that you cannot solve on your own and you do not have money for the therapists, I would strongly suggest buying a journal and write in it for a couple months. You will be surprised how things are not as bad as what you think, you may feel better, or you will find life to be more peaceful.

So keep smiling,
Namkia
