R is for Rewards

Greetings:

A few days ago, I broke the strap of my work bag, so I needed a new bag for work. Today I went to the store to find a new work bag which I did find. So I decided to look around the store and I saw a beautiful comforter for my bed. I didn’t buy it because I did not need it. But I start I started thinking about redecorating my bedroom, and if and when I finish redecorate I would buy the comforter for myself as a reward.
I think rewards are a good motivational tool. It is good to reward yourself when you have done something great or when you’ve done something that was difficult and challenging. It is good for you to recognize that you are a hard worker. Not everybody has people to celebrate with or some accomplishments are private, so it is good to reward yourself. I think that after achieving certain achievements you should reward yourself.
Now I don’t think you should buy rewards if you can’t afford them. I also think certain rewards should correspond with the goal. If I walked 10000 steps for consecutive 30 days I don’t think I deserve a $700 TV set, but a new pair of walking shoes would be great. For some people, walking 10,000 steps every day is no problem, but for me it is.
Rewards don’t have to cost you any money either. A reward can be watching TV, reading a book that you already have, or just going to the park.
So as you set goals also list some rewards to keep you motivated. Reward yourself when you done a great job.
Keep Smiling,
Namkia
